etched upon the heart

Over on my Substack, I wrote an essay on the importance of memorization. If you’d like to read it, you can find it here.

And here’s a quote to give a brief preview:

Often, we ask the wrong questions. We look for what a thing can do for us, instead of asking what it does to us.

  1. I read the whole article on Substack but couldn’t figure out how to comment there!: Micah and I have been listening to Slugs and Bugs: They have some silly songs but also a lot of fun, happy songs that are straight Scripture and are intended for children. So sometimes I have the Pangolin song or Burp Burp Chicken Wiggle stuck in my head (😂🤦🏻‍♀️), but I’ve also been impressed at how much I’m unconsciously learning the verses in the Scripture songs! The Corner Room has some good music that is Scripture as well. It’s just a small way I try to set the tone and sneak things into our brains on the long days at home.
